RV News and Stories Fayetteville, NC – July 8, 2005 -- www.rveducation101.com RV Education 101, founded in 1999, announces the release of their much anticipated new DVD titled “Travel Trailer / 5th Wheel 101”. RV Education 101 produces professional Recreation Vehicle (RV) training videos and DVD's on how to use and maintain the systems of an RV. The owner's Mark and Dawn Polk stated there is not enough emphasis placed on properly educating the consumer on the complexities of operating an RV. Mark Polk said, "RV's are a 12 billion dollar industry and with the baby boomers and post 9/11 travel concerns it continues to grow in popularity. If you want to retain people in the RV lifestyle, education is a must. Our new DVD is one of our best selling titles. We just updated it and put it into DVD format. We had so many people requesting a DVD for 5th wheels, so we added the 5th wheel demonstration along with the travel trailer in the new DVD.”...

RV News and Stories I received quite a few questions and comments on my last article, “Basic RV Electricity.” The questions and comments were very good and they addressed some RV electrical concerns I didn’t cover in the article. I thought that everyone could benefit from this information and decided to include it in this article....

RV News and Stories One of the most common questions and concerns I receive is about the RV electrical system. Most people ask if I can explain the RV electrical system in simple to understand terms. The electrical system in your RV can seem complex and confusing until you have a basic understanding of how it works. Your RV actually has three separate electrical systems. It has a 12-volt DC automotive system, a 12-volt DC coach system, and a 120 volt AC coach system. We are primarily concerned with the 12-volt DC and 120 volt AC coach systems....

RV News and Stories It only seems appropriate to talk about gas prices right now. Vacation season is now upon us and that means prime time for RV travel. It seems to me that this subject comes up every year about this time.
I never understood why gas prices sky rocket every year when the avverage working family is planning to take their annual vacation. I try not to let it bother me. I try to look at it from an angle that I can deal with......

RV Travel: ANNUAL MAINTENANCE COSTS - summer 2003 by Peggi McDonald

RV News and Stories I also receive many questions about maintenance costs.

I am relaying this so everyone is aware that there are good and bad (months) years, although in the long run everything averages out, some years will be higher than others and you must expect it. 2003 was a good example of a not so good year.

Good times while RVing always outnumber the bad but not every day is perfect and some will be a bit more costly than others. This is the reason I strongly urge every RVer to have a $5000.00 emergency fund so you do not have to use your travel funds for surprise repairs – ours is a zero balance credit card that we can deal with when we return home in the summer....

RV News and Stories Life in the RV Lane can be a real whirlwind where you run from here to there - or as laid back as you want it to be. However finding a place to visit when you arrive in an unfamiliar area can be equally challenging while you discover what’s ‘happening’. During a recent stay near ‘Mickey Mouse Land’ in Disneyland in Orlando, Florida we had to look real hard to find fun things to do other than the expensive attractions and theme parks. When you’re only in an area for a few days, your search can become even more trying....
