Hey Mark!

It feels like I know you since watching the DVDs a couple of times. I
ordered 10 of your DVDs to prepare for our first travel trailer. We
finally did it and bought a Jayco 26BH. We are still young and have
time to upgrade though this TT seems to have everything that we could
need for a while. We got a good deal and went in there with more
knowledge than our salesman (Dan). I also ordered a new truck but it
will not be in for 30-90 days. So, they are holding the trailer.

The RV dealer is Crestview RV. While talking to Dan (salesman) and
Paul (sales manager), I kept referring to your Educational DVDs. They
were surprised by how much I knew since this is my first TT. The
manager was very interested in
the DVDs since they were thinking of making a set for first-timers.
We all agreed that it is silly to reinvent the wheel. Again, the DVDs will be proudly placed in our RV and we will refer to them often.

Thank you,
Tom B.

Hi Mark,

I recently downloaded your Checklists for RVers and want to thank you for providing such an amazing group of lists. I’ve tried to do my own for several years, and yours are ‘way more complete than mine. Thank you so much! They are wonderful! I’ve printed all that apply to our situation.

We have a travel trailer (30’), and this will be our fourth summer coming up. We can relate to so many of the things that your lists remind us to check, and some of those things we’ve learned the hard way. We don’t use a conventional hitch, but rather a Hensley hitch which is quite different to hitch and unhitch, but it does an amazing job with the road sway issue. I think I will make up my own hitching and unhitching list for the Hensley, using yours as a guide.

I do have one suggestion to offer on your unhitching lists, including Travel Trailers, Fifth Wheels, and Pop-ups. At the very beginning of the list, you say to chock the wheels. It might be good to put in a reminder to level the trailer (side to side) first if the campsite or parking area is not flat before chocking and unhitching. It would be too bad if someone who was new to trailering would pull in, unhitch, and then realize that they’d have to hitch up again because the site wasn’t level. We do a lot of camping in state parks where no pad is provided, so we usually have to level the trailer. This is just a thought.

Thanks again for a great set of lists. I have a bunch of your DVD’s on the way!

Why don’t you make your book "The RV Book" a must before buying an RV. I didn’t find it till after I bought my Travel trailer. I missed a lot of the info I needed to know b4 I bought . It is to late now but each sales person should ask the potential buyer if he ever has owned an RV. If not theyu should give the book to the buyer and tell them to read first then come back if they still want to buy. Thnk you for the info even though some info is to late. I will definately pass the title of your book to anyone planning on buying thier 1st RV. …Daniel
