I just read your check list from the KOA about traveling with pets. I know that the last paragraph says that it does not cover everything...... But, there is one more thing I think is very important that should be added and that is having your pet microchipped. It only cost us $30 and it included having your pet registered internationally (They also keep a photo of your pet on file). After the hurricane that hit the South this past fall, Petfinders was able to help reunite many of the pets with their owners.
It was no big deal to have it done. Our dog didn't even notice when our vet injected the chip. We travel everywhere with our dog and even if we never lose our dog, the money was well spent for our peace of mind.
Also, just a note, I do not work for Petfinders, I just think it's a great to have something like this available.
Thanks,
Leslie N. Kravitz

Hi Leslie!
Thank-you for taking the time to write to us!
We apologize for overlooking this issue. You are right! Pet owners DO need to micro-chip their pets. We will try and make mention of it in future writings!
Thanks again!
