A note from RV Education 101

On this day, the 4th anniversary of 9-11. We want to remember and honor those that lost their lives on that horrible day and to remember the families and loved ones that still live with it always. I am proud to be an American and proud that we all can band together in horrible and also in good times...
We also want the RV community to know of the generosity of its own people, and of the many RV companies who have responded so quickly to help our fellow RVers in a time of desperate need, regarding hurricane Katrina.
Anne Pierson of Happy Camper Club (and fellow co-founder of the Circle of Trust RV Family) wrote: It has been discussed often in the last week how fortunate we are that the Circle of Trust RV Family was formed at the start of this year, and that many companies have had a lot of practice, working like a fine-tuned clock to produce fun games, a weekly newsletter with great content, and many other projects that prove beyond doubt that competitors can be good neighbors, and that an organization like COT can really exist. A true democracy lives here, and because of our friendship and cooperation with each other, we had no need to cut through any red tape, hold any meetings, or wait for a committee to vote. The COT pulled together in one day, opened a relief store, donated products, coordinated shipping, gathered products to be shipped directly to the RV parks hosting these families, and got a massive campaign underway to alert the RV community to the situation in the south. We're talking about nearly 80 companies doing something to help with one mighty effort, in an instant.
We also give many thanks to the RV companies who are NOT members of COT, who jumped to our aid, joined us as neighbors and friends, and put thoughts of "who is in charge" where it belonged - out the window.
Note: Anne is asking for volunteers to help deliver donated RV products further south in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, and asking whether any RVers have "vacation lots" that they might allow hurricane evacuees to use for a while, until they reestablish their lives.
On this anniversary of September 11, 2001, we thank the RV community for the "one-ness" of its answer to the call to help. We invite you to join us in our ongoing efforts by reading all about the unfolding situation at www.rvnewsdaily.com http://www.rvnewsdaily.com/staticpages/index.php/relief_store and remembering, in your future dealings with RV businesses, those who sacrificed their time, energy, money and time required for their own business endeavors, to help the RV neighborhood begin to rebuild.
Finally, we would like to take this day to remember that we are very fortunate to be part of a wonderful lifestyle called RVing. We as RVers have the unbelievable freedom to go where we want, when we want, and the friendships that form are for a "lifetime". The human spirit is unabounding!
I would like to offer to you a free e-download of our Happy Camper community RV tips, just e-mail me with the subject line: free tips.
I will send it to you.
Our next community project ( with Anne Pierson leading the way) is focused on our journeys as individuals, and how the RV lifestyle helps make our inner journeys a reality. We are collecting "Random Acts of Kindness" stories and we hope you will participate. I bet there are some heartfelt stories out there!

RV Education 101 is a North Carolina based Company that produces educational videos on how to use and maintain your RV. Mark Polk, the owner, started in the RV industry as an apprentice technician in the early 1970's. After retiring as a CW3 from the military (where Polk was an automotive maintenance technician, and was in charge of some very large maintenance operations throughout his career) in 1996, he got back into the industry he had a passion for. Polk has an extensive background in RV sales, service and management. He felt so strongly about educating the consumer that he left his position as an RV Sales Manager in 2000 to devote himself full time to his company. Mark’s program includes instructional videos and other materials to make your RVing lifestyle even easier. Mark also provides the RV Savvy segments for the RVTV program and can be seen on the Outdoor Channel. You can order Mark's complete line of RV Education 101 material from www.rveducation101.com
