“God has two dwellings; one in heaven, and the other in a meek and thankful heart. ~ Izaak Walton
by Mark Polk
Hi Everybody,
This is a short version of our newsletter this week. This weekend we experienced some devastating weather conditions in and around the area where we live. Tornadoes swept through six states and hit North Carolina especially hard on Saturday, with over 62 twisters touching down and leaving a path of destruction behind.Within 15 miles in either direction of our home you can witness the irreparable life changing damage caused by these storms. It makes you feel completely helpless when you see the remains of somebody's home spread out over several acres or miles of where it once stood. People lost their possessions, homes, and in many cases their lives in the blink of an eye.
It makes you realize just how quickly your entire life can change. Now the clean-up effort begins. For lots of folks it will take weeks to months to pick up the pieces and try to get back to some resemblance of normalcy. Lots of people are without power, and will be for quite some time, including our other house in Fayetteville where my sister and niece now live. We were fortunate to have the RV, and be able to set it up for them to use until power can be restored.
Thank-you to everyone who called or e-mailed us. We apologize for the calls or e-mails that have not been returned at this time.
Events like this also make you think about experiencing bad weather when you are RVing. RV's and mobile homes are the last place you want to be during bad weather like hurricanes and tornadoes. I think it's important to have an emergency weather plan in mind at all times while using your RV. Having a plan will help you react quicker during an emergency situation. I am including an article I wrote some time ago to help you plan, or think about what you should do during bad weather while you are RVing.
We just released Episode #6 of Mark's RV Garage featured below.
Until next week, plan your trip, travel safe and enjoy your RV experiences. Remember, getting there is half the fun!

Camping/RV Battery Chargers- BatteryMINDers® are the new generation of SMART, pulse type "computer-on-a-chip" chargers, that safely charge and maintain all size / type / brands of batteries including starter, deep cycle and sealed types including AGM “dry” made by OPTIMA, ODYSSEY, EXIDE, INTERSTATE, et al. They do all of this without ever overcharging, no matter how long they are left on charge – days-weeks-or even months. Dubbed the chargers with "brains," they are the first to fully-automatically reverse the primary cause of early battery failure known as "sulfation". Sulfated batteries once considered beyond recovery can now be brought back to long-term useful condition. Certain models of BatteryMINDers® can more than double the useful life of new batteries.

About us:
Our goal with RV University This Week is to provide you with helpful information to make all of your RV experiences more enjoyable. I left my position as an RV Sales and F&I manager in 2000 to start my own company, RV Education 101. We produce educational videos, DVDs and e-books on how to use and maintain your RV. The reason I left my job was due to my concern about the lack of educational and safety awareness material available to the RV consumer, in other words, you. We are a small company. My wife Dawn left her position in RV sales to help start the company and is our Sales and Marketing Director. We currently have a 35-foot Class A motor home. We have two boys, Tyler 14 and Josh 20, both avid RVers and three dogs, Roxie, Gracie and Buck.
